TOPICS:
WRITING
INSPIRE! WRITE FROM YOUR SOUL
Reach out, be a hand of healing to a hurting world. Write your insights, inspirations, epiphanies. Learn how to connect with your readers to inspire and motivate them. Make a positive impact in your sphere and beyond. This presentation can be a keynote speech, a motivational speech, or a participatory workshop.
DEVOTION WRITING
Learn how to write devotions that touch the heart of your reader and change the course of their lives. Depending on your needs, this can be an instructional presentation or a participatory workshop.
PUBLIC SPEAKING . . . WHY?
The days of just writing and leaving the promotion responsibilities to others are over for most writers. Today we are expected to have a platform. One of the most effective platform builders is public speaking. In this fun workshop we learn how to overcome our fear, choose topics and deliver them in an effective and authoritative way.
LIVING HISTORY
History never seems like history while we are living in it. But in reality, our present is someone else’s history. Learn why our day-to-day lives are important to the fabric of humanity. Also, in this interactive workshop, we identify the events in our lifetimes that are already in textbooks. We all have more to offer than facts and figures. We are the “connecting” points of these events for generations after us. The future will "hear" our voice.
WRITING LIFE ~ YOUR STORIES MATTER
A presentation or workshop on finding our stories and sharing them in multiple ways, including memoirs, using the Creative Nonfiction genre. Linda encourages her audience to value their stories and demonstrates why they are important. This is an interactive session.

This presentation is ideally delivered over multiple sessions, but the key points can be covered in a single session.
USING FICTION TO TELL THE TRUTH USING THE CREATIVE NONFICTION STYLE
Do you want your nonfiction prose to read like a novel? The Creative Nonfiction style of writing does just that by using fiction techniques in your nonfiction writing. There is no better way to connect with your readers. This class can be divided into two levels.
-
Level 1 is for writers new to Creative Nonfiction.
-
Level 2 takes a more out-of-the-box approach. This is a one-hour workshop, but can be expanded into two hours.
USING NATURE'S ELEMENTS TO SHARPEN CHARACTERIZATION
For another tool in your writer’s toolbox, try this unconventional approach to character development. As writers, we often put a little bit of ourselves into all of our characters. This sometimes results in too much blending of personalities. By assigning an element such as earth, fire, air (wind), or water, to a character, the contrast is sharp. It also improves our understanding as to how our characters interact with each other. So, what are the characteristics of each element? Let Linda show you. This is an interactive session and above all, it’s fun.
WRITING CHILDREN'S BOOKS FOR TODAY'S YOUNG READERS
Writing picture books, early reader books, chapter books, and for middle-grade isn’t just about a sweet story any longer. Educators and librarians are looking for storylines that also incorporate social and emotional learning. Linda will discuss ways to integrate these valuable lessons in our writing without being “teachy” or “preachy.”
