For Winston, wintertime brings some strange things. Sugar sets up a tree inside the house, white stuff covers his front yard, and the strangest of all, alien deer are on his front lawn...and they glow. He doesn't like them one bit and does his best to scare them away, but they refuse. He learns a valuable lesson about kindness in his quest to run off these stubborn beasts.

Once again, Linda Apple has written a darling story from the point of view of her dog, Winston. In this book, Winston is puzzled by strange events brought by cold weather and the Christmas season. Illustrator Dylan Hale brings the book to life with his beautiful artwork. The book ends with a lesson on the importance of giving, and Linda even provides a list of ways children and their parents can give during the Christmas season. — Jan Vanek, Author / Speaker / Teacher
